Testosterone Propionate is used for growth and development of male reproductive organs, maintains secondary sex characteristics, increases protein anabolism and decreases protein catabolism. This medication is used in men who do not make enough of a natural substance called Testosterone Propionate. In males, Testosterone Propionate is responsible for many normal functions, including growth and development of the genitals, muscles, and bones. It also helps cause normal sexual development (puberty) in boys. Testosterone Propionate belongs to a class of drugs known as androgens. It works by affecting many body systems so that the body can develop and function normally. Testosterone Propionate may also be used in certain adolescent boys to cause puberty in those with delayed puberty. It may be used in certain women to treat advanced breast cancer. |

All medicines may cause side effects, but many people have no, or minor, side effects. Check with your doctor if any of these most COMMON side effects persist or become bothersome: Acne; enlarging penis; increased frequency of erections; unnatural hair growth; Acne or oily skin; enlarging clitoris; hoarseness or deepening of voice; irregular menstrual periods; unnatural hair growth; unusual hair loss; Seek medical attention right away if any of these SEVERE side effects occur: Bone pain; nausea or vomiting; sore tongue; swelling of feet or lower legs; unusual bleeding; unusual weight gain; Black, tarry, or light-colored stools; dark-colored urine; purple- or red-colored spots on body or inside the mouth or nose; sore throat and/or fever; vomiting of blood; This is not a complete list of all side effects that may occur. If you have questions or need medical advice about side effects, contact your doctor or health care provider. |
| Medical dose: | Usual dosage for propionate for men is to inject 50 to 100 mg, every 2nd or 3rd day. For women the dosage is to inject 25 mg to 50 mg per every 5 to 7 days. |
